The Role
We are looking for a Chief of Staff to work as the right-hand to the CEO and be immersed in strategic and operational analysis, as well as taking a lead role in driving large projects within the business, maximizing the organizational strategy and direction of the Company. The Chief of Staff must be adept at compiling information and reports for the CEO, enabling the CEO to quickly understand where the business is and the issues it faces. This position will be expected to give opinions on such findings, and proactively design and implement action and project plans.
As a Chief of Staff to the CEO, you will need to understand how the senior management team operates and how important decisions are made. You will be responsible for ensuring that there is a process for information to come to the CEO, and will ensure that this information is thorough and accurate, making sure that the executive decision-making process is effective.
You will be responsible for executive meetings, for planning Board meetings, CEO presentations internally and externally, and other projects as assigned. As a Chief of Staff, you will also have project work critical to the organization’s growth and development as well as to the Company’s ability to effectively scale as it grows. You will gain experience and be able to grow into a management role that encompasses the strategic, financial, and operational aspects of leading a global, complex biotechnology organization.
Main Responsibilities
- Understanding the nature of each functional area of the Company, including Research & Development, Commercial, Product Development, Technical Operations, Legal and Regulatory Affairs
- Attending business meetings with the CEO and providing action items and executive minutes
- Preparing critical meeting agendas and sending out pre-meeting documentation
- Participating in meetings and responsible for tracking outcomes and deliverables
- Working closely with the CEO to identify and prepare for critical thought leadership engagements
- Become aware of issues from an integrative, executive leadership perspective
- Obtain an up close and personal understanding of leadership and decision-making related to the simultaneous execution of a complex organizational growth strategy
- Review and analyze the company’s financial reports as well as other departments’ reports, flagging issues to the CEO
- Financial due diligence on internal departments and external competitors
- Access to executive developmental opportunities that augment their responsibilities
- This role provides privileged access to the inner workings of DNA Script and to highly sensitive information

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- MBA or equivalent business degree with 5 years of experience working in the life sciences industry, which may include management/strategy consulting/investment banking
- Ideally, Engineering MS/PhD in Science
