Illumina Veteran Kim Ferguson Joins as Vice President of Sales and Randy Dyer, an Experienced Leader in Life Science Marketing, Joins as Vice President of Marketing
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., and PARIS, June 8, 2021— DNA Script, a leader in enzymatic DNA synthesis, today announced the appointments of Kim Ferguson as Vice President of Sales and Randy Dyer as Vice President of Marketing. Both are joining DNA Script to support the company’s commercial launch of the SYNTAX System, the first benchtop DNA printer powered by Enzymatic DNA Synthesis (EDS) technology. Ferguson and Dyer will be responsible for accelerating the growth of DNA Script and the expansion of the SYNTAX platform.
“Both Kim and Randy have demonstrated significant leadership in their past roles, contributing to strategy and driving revenue growth — both at start-up companies and larger organizations with diverse product portfolios,” said DNA Script CEO and co-founder Thomas Ybert. “As we progress toward the launch of the SYNTAX System, we will rely on their expertise to support our product commercialization success.”
Ferguson is a results-driven capital equipment sales leader with 15 years of experience in direct and distribution sales. Most recently, she was Senior District Sales Manager for the New England region for Illumina, where she spent the past eight years in various sales and leadership roles. Before joining Illumina, Ferguson spent more than five years with Eppendorf.
“The SYNTAX System is inspired by the benchtop next-generation sequencing systems, with which I have deep experience, and the impact they have had on genomics research and personalized medicine,” said Ferguson. “This first-of-its-kind DNA printer makes writing DNA as quick and straightforward as reading DNA, resulting in research and clinical labs being able to save time and iterate faster.”
Dyer has two decades of product marketing experience in the life sciences industry, translating laboratory processes and workflows into market strategies, product development projects, and marketing campaigns. Most recently, Dyer served as the Senior Director of Product Marketing for Purigen Biosystems Inc., where he led product management and marketing. Prior to joining Purigen, Dyer served as the Director of Product Marketing at Labcyte Inc.
“DNA Script and its proprietary EDS technology have the potential to change the way lab professionals use nucleic acids by offering on-demand access to synthetic DNA — and enabling researchers with minimal training to design, print and test oligos within the same day,” Dyer said. “I am eager to share my experience with a company committed to accelerating life science discoveries.”
